BODHI ENGLISH RETRIEVERS

In 2019, we lost our beloved dog, and at the time, it seemed like we would never be able to fill the hole that was left in our hearts. In January 2020, my husband spent a considerable amount researching breeders, and he happened upon Bodhi English Retrievers. When we contacted Heidi, she informed us that she had one male puppy available. Little did we know that we were about to adopt one of the best dogs imaginable! Our Gatsby has exceeded every expectation! He is healthy, kind, sweet, intelligent, obedient, calm, trusting, and playful! He's amazing around our two grandbabies, and we recently adopted a little girl, Daisy, from Heidi, and it took two days for them to become the best of friends. Heidi has been the most extraordinary breeder! We greatly appreciated the videos and pictures she sent of our puppies as they grew from Week 1 until Week 8. She is always responsive and quick to answer emails, texts, or phone calls to give updates and offer advice. One of the greatest and most comforting parts of our experience with Bodhi English Retrievers has been the genuine love Heidi demonstrates towards her puppies, dogs, and her new puppy families. We will be forever grateful for Heidi and our two Bodhi babies!

Love, love, love Bodhi Kennel and Heidi Lyons. I got my Bodie from her shortly after I lost my 13 1/2 year old Golden. Heidi is a very caring breeder. I couldn’t ask for a more loving boy. Bodie received his National Registration as a Therapy Dog at the age of 14 months and is amazing with all age groups. My family brought a Bodhi English Retriever puppy into our family 1 year ago. As a veterinarian it was very important to me to find a breeder who takes wonderful care of her own dogs and breeds them for the health and temperament of the puppies. Heidi keeps the puppies in her home and socializes them with both animals and people. Being able to visit them in her home allowed us to pick the right puppy for our family. Our puppy has been perfect for my autistic son, very gentle and patient. Not only has her temperament been exceptional but her health has been perfect, with her genetic testing showing no abnormalities, negative parasite testing, and appropriate hips. Heidi’s puppies are wonderful and I look forward to the day when we can bring another one home.

We have had two dogs from Bodhi English Retrievers, and we can’t begin to express what a wonderful experience it has been working with and getting to know Heidi. She is a consummate and conscientious breeder and her profound love and compassion for dogs is obvious. She is always quick to respond and patiently answers our questions. After our puppy was born, Heidi would send us weekly videos and photos of the litter – really allowing us to be part of the puppies life from the start. When it was time to choose our puppy, Heidi would sit around with us and a pile of puppies, letting us spend however much time with them we needed and helping us decide which one would be the perfect fit for our family. Heidi is still an exceptional and enthusiastic resource. If we ever have any questions regarding raising healthy and happy dogs, she is our go-to and always makes herself available.
